Job Description

Opportunities like this don’t come along every day. This is a unique opportunity to work for a fun organisation within a newly refurbished venue and shape the future of one of Sydney’s iconic venues.

The Venue
With an extensive refurbishment taking place across 2017, the Roundhouse relaunched to the university, student and commercial markets in early 2018. The Roundhouse has been an Eastern Suburbs fixture and a prominent figure in the live music and event industry since the early 60’s. Capable of hosting a diverse and high volume of events from 2,200 capacity gigs and student parties to cocktail functions, gala dinners, sporting events and everything in between, all whilst maintaining its place on campus as the ‘home of student life’.

The Role
The Event Co-Ordinator must be willing to get their hands dirty figuratively and literally and be passionate about all thing’s events. This role encompasses every component of an event from the sale of the venue, logistics, operations management on the day through to post event reports. They will drive the venue’s immediate and long term growth in attendance and revenues across the student markets. They will be willing to help the team set-up large scale events, pour a beer on a busy night or help serve a BBQ for 1,000 hungry students. You will be the go-to contact for all students wishing to book events within the Roundhouse.

Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for an experienced Event Co-ordinator who can work both on and in the business, who can bring strategic thinking, strong commercial acumen and a demonstrated ability to set and meet targets and drive outcomes for our students, customers and the organisation. We want someone who can hit the ground running, think on their feet and deliver amazing results. You will have excellent stakeholder and people management skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
As importantly, we're looking for someone who shares our values and culture, who brings passion and positivity, and make sure their team embodies the same culture.

The Company
Arc is pretty awesome, it’s the kind of place where we build castles around people’s desk’s for birthdays, have a pretty bad touch football team, eat cake and Friday happy hours start at 5pm (ok.. 4.30pm in The Roundhouse Beer Garden!). Located on the University of New South Wales campus, Arc is one of Australia’s biggest & best student organisations and is made up of a dynamic and energetic group of people focused on providing students and clients with the best experience possible. We work hard. We expect results (but we have fun doing it).
