Arc is the cool older sibling at UNSW. We pride ourselves on our obsession with student life because we know that the best part of going to uni is all the fun stuff you do outside the classroom. Our mission is to create the best student experience and we do that through a huge range of opportunities and services available to students online and in person. Working at Arc you’ll join a welcoming team of passionate people who believe in listening to students, working together and constantly being better. Plus there are plenty of employee perks like cake, volleyball, Arc Wellness and heaps more.
About The Role
The Second Life Hub is Arc’s very own volunteer-run reuse centre - a place where pre-loved items like stationery, kitchenware, homewares and more get a second chance, instead of heading to landfill. By collecting donations and redistributing them to students for free, the program supports both sustainability and student wellbeing.
As the Second Life Hub Officer, you'll keep the Hub running smoothly, lead an enthusiastic volunteer team, and dream up creative ways to promote the space and get students involved. You'll also help bring reuse to life through pop-ups and events across campus. If you're passionate about sustainability, resourcefulness and helping others - this is your chance to make your mark!
Who are We?
Arc is UNSW’s student organisation. We like to call ourselves the cool older sibling. We know that the best parts of going to uni is all the stuff you do outside the classroom, and we pride ourselves on making that experience awesome. We do that through a huge range of opportunities and services available to students online and in-person.
Working at Arc you’ll join a welcoming team of full of like-minded students, who believe in listening to students, working together and having fun between hard work. Work perks include professional development opportunities, the occasional work cake party, hot desk spaces, tickets to the Arc Annual Dinner, and more. But probably the best thing you’ll get out of working here are some friendships you’ll never forget.
Imposter Syndrome disclaimer:
If you’re reading this thinking, ‘no way can I do this, I have no experience’, you should know that some of the best student coordinators at Arc applied when they had no experience. We took them on because we believe in giving people their first chance, and because they showed they had a willingness to learn, problem solve and try new things. You could be that person too.

- Plan and deliver small-scale activations that promote reuse and engage students with the program
- Support program operations behind the scenes, including planning timelines, rosters and day-to-day logistics
- Recruit, coordinate and support volunteers, building a positive and engaged community
