Arc is a student organisation located on university campus looking for a fun, reliable and experienced Retail Manager to join their Retail team. This is a full time Management role, running the day to day operations and management functions of their merchandise retail store in an on campus fun environment, with the ability to drive and lead staff, provide excellent customer service building on campus customer relationships, run background store operations, as well as manage the operations of an ecommerce website.
Job Description
A key area of the role involves management of key events 2-3 times per year, managing a number of retail mobile spaces and up to 50 staff.
This role is available as either a Fulltime or Part time role, operating Monday to Friday except during Graduation seasons.
To thrive in this role you’ll have a strong understanding of the retail world, good organisational and event management skills and have the ability to confidently lead, motivate and engage your team daily to meet budget requirements, and connect easily with the predominantly student-based customers and support staff.
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
As an excellent store general manager you will:
Manage the stores day to day operational needs, developing and maintaining store standards, visual merchandising standards; hiring, training and overseeing of store personnel, roster management, stock management, cash handling and all duties relating to the stores daily processes.
Financial reviews to maximise operating efficiencies and meet budget requirements.
Excellent Customer Service with focus on relationship building.
Stock level control, ordering and maintenance
Product Developmentspecific to clothing and gift wear designs, from development to final manufacture, assessing and refining current products, and development/redevelopment of products to maximise sales.
Identify, develop and promote sales initiatives maintaining sales targets for on-line and instore promotions.
Graduations management, the organisation and running of ARCS Academic dress sale and hire services during graduation seasons throughout the year, as well as event pop-up spaces during i.e. O-week and key event periods on campus.
Management and upkeep of the eCommerce website and associated sales. Including product management, website marketing and promotions and general function, with support of internal web master.
Comply with all Work Health and Safety (WHS) policies and procedures of UNSW as well as Arc @ UNSW and take reasonable care to ensure the actions and omissions do not impact the Health and Safety of others in University and work place.
Perform all Arc required Cultural & Behavioural Competencies to a satisfactory level
