Arc @ UNSW is a public company, limited by guarantee, governed by a Board of Directors. Arc is a voluntary student membership organisation that provides recreational, cultural, representational and retail services to the students of the University of New South Wales (UNSW). The organisation operates commercial businesses to maintain financial viability and to provide student services and programs for members.

Arc @ UNSW directly employs approximately 70 staff on a permanent basis and approximately 200 casual employees. The organisation also utilises the time and resources of a large number of student volunteers to administer programs and events. Sub-brands managed by Arc include Arc Clubs, Arc Volunteering, Arc Sport, Arc Wellness, Arc Creative, Roundhouse, Home Ground and The Grad Shop.

Job Description

KEY TASKS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop new business and grow existing client relationships.
  • Identify, negotiate, and secure Purposeful Partnerships that enhance the student experience, such as pro-bono services, student development opportunities, or in-kind contributions.
  • Meet and exceed revenue goals.
  • Deliver against set KPI’s including client growth, new business development, and the establishment of value-adding Purposeful Partnerships.
  • Weekly, monthly and annual reporting on budgets and partnership outcomes.
  • Working pro-actively and effectively in a team and liaising with internal departments as well as external parties.
  • Undertake other tasks and duties as directed by the Manager.
  • Comply with Arc WHS & Injury Management policy and procedures to actively participate in the achievement of a safe working culture.

Desired Skills and Experience

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • At least 2 -3 years sales and/or partnership development experience.
  • Driven, proactive and goal orientated.
  • Identifying new business opportunities and over-achieving targets.
  • Ability to develop compelling client presentations to win new business and secure strategic partnerships.
  • Brilliant organisation, multi-tasking and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work with precision and efficiency in a fast-paced environment; attention to detail is key.
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrated abilities as a strategic thinker, negotiator and problem solver.
  • Strong ethical and professional work attitude.
     

DESIRED CRITERIA

  • Knowledge and understanding of education / youth market segments (18-25) and influences.
