The Social Officer (UNSW College) promotes the participation of UNSW College students in Arc @ UNSW programs, clubs, activities and services. They are responsible for maximising UNSW College student participation across Arc programming – ranging from service utility (like Bike-ology); to volunteering (like Stationery Reuse); to events (like Culture Café and Lunar New Year); to sport (like social soccer) and Clubs (like all the 300 clubs!). This program will supervise a small team of ambassador volunteers who will assist in the program delivery.

Job Description
KEY TASKS & ACCOUNTABILITIES
Promote Arc services and programs to UNSW College students
Distribute posters and flyers at UNSW College
Undertake target marketing activities (e.g. Culture Café for English as a Second Language students; Diwali for Hindu students)
Oversee social media promotion (email, WhatsApp, WeChat, Little Red Book, etc)
Arc website information and membership information
Support the delivery of “main campus” activations at UNSW College.
Services like Bike-ology, urban gardens, stationery
Wellness pop-ups like Stress Less Week
Sport pop-ups
Facilitate the delivery of dedicated UNSW College activations
Sport events and activities
Workshops and seminars from Arc Legal & Advocacy
Liaise with the program officers from Arc on what resources are required to run their programs.
Oversee the UNSW College volunteering program. Specifically overseeing:
Volunteer recruitment, training, and management
Internal program operation and long-term strategy
Reward, recognition, retention and offboarding

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
SELECTION CRITERIA
Must be a current or recent alumni of UNSW College
Demonstrated experience in planning and executing volunteering activities or events
Passion and commitment to the primary objective and student life holistically.
Demonstrated passion and enthusiasm for student life on campus, non-academic programs and services offered to students by Arc @ UNSW;
Demonstrated competent use of Windows and Office 365.
Understanding of cultural diversity, awareness, promotion and advocacy.
Thorough knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) and risk management practices.
Strong ethical and professional work attitude.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
Experience in working or volunteering at University
Food handling skills, food safety qualifications (or the desire to acquire qualifications)
Strong proven project management skills, including the ability to coordinate multiple aspects of events such as site management, safety protocols, scheduling, budgeting, and stakeholder engagement.
Excellent relationship building, collaboration and communication skills, with the capacity to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor young adults in the areas of project management, events management, people management
What we offer
12-15 hours per week
$32.91/hour (base rate of $26.33 with casual loading applied)
