Homeground Kiosk was opened last June under much fanfare and has definitely lived up to all expectations of a quality coffee and amazing cuisine that will keep you coming back again and again.

Homeground is located just off the Main Walkway of UNSW, in a prime location that gets maximum foot traffic, and hence this establishment has quickly become the most sort out cafe on campus by students, faculty and passing trade.

Job Description

As the leader of the Food Outlet, we’re looking for strong commercial acumen and a demonstrated ability to set and meet targets and drive outcomes for our students, customers and organisation. You’ll need to be customer-focused and be a good communicator. It’s a hands-on role that will see you in the kitchen leading the team, and on the floor engaging with customers.

Homeground Kiosk is run by Arc @ UNSW. Located on the University of New South Wales campus, Arc is one of Australia’s biggest & best student organisations and is made up of a dynamic and energetic group of people focused on providing students and clients with the best experience possible. We work hard. We expect results (but we have fun doing it).

As the Homeground Head Chef you will be responsible for the following:

· Maintain safe, secure and healthy workplace environments by establishing, following & enforcing sanitation, Health & Safety, and HACCP procedures and complying with all legal regulations

· Stock control and ordering

· Effective management of kitchen staff ensuring quality of product, service & overall performance

· Effective communication with front of house management and staff

· Staff rostering and timesheets in conjunction with Homeground Manager

· Weekly/Monthly budgets and food costing

· Accomplish company goals by accepting ownership of all aspects of BOH operations.

· Opening/closing of kitchen

· Maintain kitchen presentation, cleanliness and product integrity

· Ensure daily par levels are met.
