About The Role

UNSWeetened is one of Arc’s student programs dedicated to publishing student's creative works in short stories, poetry and essay. With a new themed print edition every year, UNSWeetened quickly approaches it's thirtieth birthday as a herald and home for UNSW student's for creative writing.

As the UNSWeetened Coordinator, you'll generate, ideate and oversee the creation of the 2027 journal; from selecting this year's theme, managing volunteer editors, collaborating with the Blitz designer to manage the design team and organise the launch. As this year's coordinator, you will also manage the publication of creative writing works across the Blitz platform year-round, as well as ideate and create supplemental zine publications to release throughout the year.

This role is perfect for someone who’s passionate about creative writing, editing, storytelling and supporting UNSW's community of writers. If you're a creative, writer and want to make a special encapsulation of student experiences through creative writing, we want to hear from you!

Who are We?

Arc is UNSW’s student organisation. We like to call ourselves the cool older sibling. We know that the best parts of going to uni is all the stuff you do outside the classroom, and we pride ourselves on making that experience awesome. We do that through a huge range of opportunities and services available to students online and in-person.

Working at Arc you’ll join a welcoming team of full of like-minded students, who believe in listening to students, working together and having fun between hard work. Work perks include professional development opportunities, the occasional work cake party, hot desk spaces, tickets to the Arc Annual Dinner, and more. But probably the best thing you’ll get out of working here are some friendships you’ll never forget.

Imposter Syndrome disclaimer:

If you’re reading this thinking, ‘no way can I do this, I have no experience’, you should know that some of the best student coordinators at Arc applied when they had no experience. We took them on because we believe in giving people their first chance, and because they showed they had a willingness to learn, problem solve and try new things. You could be that person too.
