Job Description
The Roundhouse is looking for an experienced Event Manager to lead the delivery of our commercial events programming. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a diverse portfolio of conferences, gala dinners, live music and commercial events, while playing a key role in growing the venue’s commercial success and maximising venue utilisation.
Working at the heart of one of Sydney’s most iconic live entertainment and events venues, you will lead event operations from enquiry through to delivery, building strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, suppliers and partners to deliver exceptional experiences.
The Venue:
Relaunched in March 2018, Roundhouse is home to awesome events on UNSW campus. From corporate conferences to concerts, Roundhouse is a unique venue in Sydney delivering high-quality events across the events spectrum.
The venue encompasses a concert hall, two bars, a beer garden, two lounge areas, and seven conference rooms.
Roundhouse has a diverse clientele of external hirers, partnerships with UNSW departments, and dynamic on-campus programming to service the vibrant UNSW student population.
The Role
We are looking for a leader whose values align with ours (you can read more on our mission and values here), who can enhance our venue offering in a competitive events landscape, harness the skills within the events team, and contribute to the growth of the business.
You will lead the events team, be responsible for managing and responding to enquiries, have accountability for event budgets, lead venue set-ups, and be a primary point of contact for clients during events. You will contribute to the drive for commercial revenue and growth across commercial markets, and steer our student events programming to build engagement with our core UNSW demographic.

We are looking for an experienced events professional who can bring strategic thinking, strong commercial acumen and a demonstrated ability to set and meet targets and drive outcomes for the venue. You will have excellent stakeholder and people management skills, have experience winning business and managing clients in a venue, and be someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
