The Roundhouse is seeking a Casual Bar Supervisor to effectively and professionally deliver the services required for a variety of events to a high standard. Our Function & Event Supervisors report to the Events Management leadership team and play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient running of the Roundhouse during events.

The position will involve predominantly evening and weekend hours.

Job Description

KEY TASKS & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

The Roundhouse is a diverse space and the role will be working on events ranging from gala dinners, concerts, expos and student parties. You will part of a larger team on large scale events, with tasks including setting up the venue, working a bar, or liaising with promoters, security, and patrons at a concert.

 

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Be responsible for the opening and closing duties and ensure correct procedures are followed;
  • Coordinate and allocate tasks to ensure venue is set up as per requirements;
  • Assess client needs and make sound decisions;
  • Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience;
  • Understand event room set-ups and breakdowns including dinners, conferences, concerts and parties;
  • Answer guest queries with professionalism;
  • Participate in the maintenance of the venue and ensure the event floor is tidy during events;
  • Comply with Arc WHS & Injury Management policy and procedures to actively participate in the achievement of a safe working culture;
  • Actively engage in fair and equitable workplace practices and behaviour to ensure discrimination free workplace in accordance with legislative requirements and;
  • Maintain an awareness of Arc’s environmental policies and procedures minimising the impact of Arc’s business on the environment.
  • Maintain compliance of venue whilst on duty, including all RSA matters.

Desired Skills and Experience

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential

  • Previous supervisor experience in hospitality, functions, and events
  • Strong customer service focus and good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent team player with good problem solving skills
  • Ability to lead, and work without supervision under time constraints
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Open to the variety of roles that this position entails
  • Able to work nights and weekends;
  • Self-motivated with the ability to influence events to achieve goals and take action to achieve goals

 

Desirable Criteria 

  • Minimum 2 years Supervisory experience running a bar
  • Driver’s License
  • RSA competency card
  • First Aid Certificate   
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance across food, liquor and WHS along with the ability to apply these principles in the workplace.
