Job Description
Strategise, create, implement and manage the marketing and communication activities for UNSW Roundhouse and its Venue & Events functions. The Communications Coordinator devises and implements market research initiatives that inform the delivery of both B2C and B2B promotional campaigns and activities. These activities span both top of funnel and conversion / retention tactics. The position will be responsible for developing, briefing and disseminating marketing material, and make end-to-end contributions to campaigns and communications as required.
The Communications Coordinator will lead decisions on promotional undertakings and consider the various performance of SEO, SEM, referrals and other lead-generating activities. They will work closely with the Roundhouse events team to promote and deliver engaging activities and venue offerings. This position will be responsible for identifying and pursuing potential new market segments and will be liaising with partners and prospective clients.
KEY TASKS & ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Undertake B2C marketing activity to promote Roundhouse student events, Roundhouse bar and bistro and general positive sentiment.
· Generate major event, conference and gig booking leads through B2B promotions across referral sites, relationships, target marketing
· Identify public relations opportunities including writing press releases and liaising with external media;
· Manage the department’s brand and ensure consistent and visible branding across all collateral, communications, and promotional materials;
· Work with external promoters on additional B2C opportunities to maximise gig conversion and strong database management, including ticketing builds
· Ensure that market research and competitor analysis is undertaken, analysed, reviewed and recommendations formed;
· Develop and maintain positive and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the aims of the department are met.
Desired Skills and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
SELECTION CRITERIA
· 3+ years experience in a marketing function with events industry experience desirable
· Experience measuring and reporting on ROI, with demonstrated capacity to improve return through targeted marketing strategies;
· Experience working with a creative team with the ability to take marketing concepts and create relevant and dynamic campaigns;
· Market research experience with the ability to analyse results and create meaningful and actionable recommendations;
· Demonstrated ability to work independently under broad direction;
· The ability to plan activities, set priorities and make sound judgments so as to meet goals and objectives;
· Highly developed interpersonal skills;
· Excellent oral and written communication skills with advanced editing skills
