Job Description
Food Hub is a free food pantry and student support & sustainability program that provides UNSW students with nutritious ingredients and essential items to help ease the cost of living.
As the Food Hub Officer (Paddington), you’ll be the driving force behind the program’s day-to-day operations on the Paddington Campus. You’ll help in the all the processes involved in Food hub from unpacking stock and organising the space to helping record metrics and engage with stakeholders. You’ll also recruit, train, and support volunteers, run activations and events, and work on creative ways to increase engagement and visibility across campus.

KEY TASKS & ACCOUNTABILITIES
Program Operations
• Oversee the Food Hub pantry from unpacking and organising.
• Delegate tasks to volunteers to ensure the space is organised, tidy and operating efficiently
• Monitor stock levels and donation trends to support ongoing program sustainability and space management
• Collaborate with supervisors, internal departments and other Arc programs cohesively.
• Assist in the development of project plans, timelines, budgets, volunteer rosters, run sheets, and logistics for small scale events and executing them within set parameters.
• Maintain up-to-date content across our online platforms (including website, and social media) providing opportunities for students to engage with their communities and in a digital space.
• Assist in promoting donation opportunities through regular drives and communication campaigns, encouraging the UNSW community to donate items that align with the programs criteria
Volunteer Coordination
• Assist in the recruitment and training of volunteers
• Help to build a passionate community of volunteers and facilitate social, interpersonal and professional development opportunities for them.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication as the point of contact for volunteers to direct and guide them through necessary tasks and events.
Logistics & Admin
• Track volunteer data and facilitate sufficient volunteering opportunities for AHEGS accreditation.
• Track metrics and meet targets around student engagement and participation in relation to program goals & KPTs.
• Complete risk assessments, safety briefings, and other ad hoc administration tasks.

SELECTION CRITERIA
• A UNSW student in 2026.
• Passionate about the primary objectives of the program and able to inspire and motivate others
• Understand university student’s needs and an ability to effectively incorporate these into the program's operations.
• Excellent communication skills; verbal, written and public speaking.
• High attention to detail with proven organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines, including the ability to make decisions under pressure.
DESIRABLE
• Experience with or interest in Food, improving the cost of living, and/or sustainability initiatives.
• Experience working with or leading volunteers, including training, rostering, or team coordination
• Leadership or peer support experience, either in a formal role or demonstrated through community involvement, group projects or volunteering
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, process improvement and service enhancement
